Decal Making

Overglaze Decals

Printing decals is pretty easy once you have all the right stuff.

Overglaze enamel mixed with printing medium

Fine meshed silk screen, image exposed and set.

Squeegee down your screen pulling your ink through the screen.

Presto! Decals.

Decal Application

A little soak in cool water releases the decal from the paper backing.

Once saturated, the decal sides right off, hence the term 'water slide' decals.

The decal can now be placed on any ceramic surface.

A quick rub down to remove bubbles and excess moisture.
Once applied decals should rest for 8 hours and must be fired very slowly to a relatively low temperature, cone 016 ( about 880*C )
