Quail Egg Revisited

Glaze Edit

Sometimes even after many tests a big batch of glaze doesn't always come out like you expected.  A few weeks ago we had mixed a large pail of Quail Egg glaze, a semi matt minty speckled stoneware looking glaze, but after a few glaze firings it was looking a bit dull and flat. We added 1.5% nickel to the glaze in hopes of adding a bit more contrast and variation in texture, a big risk! It sure is easy to ruin a whole pail of glaze by adding a little something, but previous testing assured us it could be done, hopefully.
Below are the results, looks great!
