Laser Power

Marking Lines

Lasers are not often associated with ceramics, but we often use this handy laser level to create registration lines that are usually pretty straight. These bowl like forms are the strainer component for a stacking set of bowls, coming up for Design Week 2013. We started these forms back in May, on the plaster lathe, hard to believe it has already been so many months. A quick turn on the wheel gives us the uniform horizontal bands, marked with our trusty Sharpie, while the laser level gives perpendicular vertical lines. A sharp drill bit does quick work of making several holes even with just finger power.
