Cobalt Sulfate

Chemical Testing

We’re playing with chemicals today, safely, of course. Cobalt Sulfate is a mineral salt containing cobalt and sulfur, it is easily dissolved in water and makes a great blue when applied to a unfired glaze.
We’re hoping to under-paint some bisque ware with lines of cobalt sulfate. These lines once glazed over and fired should reveal a solid intense blue. Fingers crossed.
